Priyanka resists initially, but on being informed that her father has 'suffered a mild cardiac arrest' she returns home. Soon after, Rizwanur's body is discovered. With his skull crushed, beside a railway track.
Though the Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry reportedly labels Rizwanur's death a suicide, neither Kolkata's intelligentsia nor Rizwanur's kin agree with that verdict. "It is a well-planned murder," alleges Professor Rahman.
"I met Rizwanur's family and was amazed by their liberating thoughts on religion. In fact, Rizwanur's family told me he was planning to embrace Hinduism to end the dispute over their marriage," he continues.
