2006 has been the year of great performances from the 'super stars' Mohanlal and Mammootty but unfortunately, female leads did not get an opportunity to show their mettle. Extremely talented actresses like Meera Jasmine, Navya Nair and Kavya Madhavan had only mediocre roles in 2006.
Though Navya Nair won the Kerala State award or her scintillating performance in Dr.Biju's Saira, and it was shown at the IIFI, Goa and IIFK, Thiruvananthapuram, the film hasn't had a theatrical release.

Without any doubt, we can say year 2006 belonged to Kavya Madhavan. She not only had the maximum number of releases -six films- but also is the star of the biggest hit of 2006, Lal Jose's Classmates. But she didn't have a film like Perumazhakalam this year!
