Australia mounted a scatching attack on South Africa to finish at 377 for six in the Group A encounter in St. Kitts on Saturday.
The Australian total was the third highest in World Cup matches, after India's 413-5 against Bermuda earlier in the tournament and Sri Lanka's 398-5 against Kenya in 1996, and their highest in the competition.
The world champions won by 83 runs.
