Racing slicks are back, baby. Slicks are tyres which don't have tread patterns at all, making them easier to warm up and giving them maximum traction.

The contact-patch with the road is maximised, so slicks can provide extreme grip. Except in the rain, of course, when they become absolutely treacherous. Bridgestone are still the sole supplier for F1, and both slicks and regular tires will have to be used in each race.
