Sania Mirza's defeat in the final of the $220,000 Pattaya Open on Sunday was the Indian's third straight one in a final.

She was fresh from a third round showing at the Australian Open, the first Indian woman to make the grade Down Under.

The Indian ace's first ever singles final was at the WTA Hyderabad Open in February 2005.
