Sania Mirza put up a brave fight in the second set before going down 6-1, 7-6 to Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova in the fourth round of the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells on Tuesday.
Hantuchova held off a strong fightback by her opponent to wrap up victory in one hour, 55 minutes and set up a quarter-final with Sharapova.
