Serena has a sober Stanford debut

The Serena Williams of the cat-suit fame seemed missing when she took court for the first time at the Bank of the West Classic WTA Tier II event in Standford.

Not only was the jazzy fashion sense missing (she turned out into a long-sleeved white t-shirt with plain black skirt), but also was the bite in her shots.
Serena struggled to put away 15-year-old qualifier Michelle Larcher de Brito of Portugal, finally prevailing 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
