The riders took the start from Our Lady's Home in Parel, South Mumbai, at 8 am after being flagged off by Ravi Chawla, President Lubes, Gulf Oil Corp. Ltd. After traveling along the transport sector, their real Test commenced at the first competitive sector beyond Belapur.
It was pure dirt through which they had to manoeuvre their scooters. The heavy rain that lashed Mumbai during the past week made the course really demanding, and it was lucky that the rain stayed away for much of the rally. Had it rained heavily many would have not even been able to complete the event.

The 65 kms course that comprised 35 kms of competitive stages, needless to say, was dicey. Riders had to strike up the correct balance to stay in the saddle.
If it was difficult negotiating the hairpin bends, it was even worse speeding down the sloppy areas and riding through the many waterlogged stretches. Many scooters got logged in the bog and riders had to literally push them through before getting astride again.
