Serena admitted to a rare bout of nerves after making a stuttering start to her Australian Open title defence with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Gajdosova.
"I think everyone could probably tell I was a little scratchy," Serena said. "But it's the first round. [I am] just moving forward. I am happy to be back here."
