Federer, who has won 12 Grand Slam titles, said his aim is to surpass Pete Sampras's record of 14.
In 2007, he won three Grand Slams -- the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. He also won the Masters Cup in Shanghai and Masters series events in Hamburg and Cincinnati.
