Anju Bobby George: The former World Championships bronze medalist failed to qualify for the final of the women's long jump after three consecutive foul jumps.

  • What was even more disappointing is the fact that she failed to register even a single clean jump, stepping over the board in all three chances.

    Krishna Poonia: Failed to reach the final of the discus throw after finishing 10th in the qualifiers with a throw of 58.23 metres.

    Harwant Kaur: Also failed to reach the discus throw final. Placed 17th in qualification, with a throw of 56.42 metres.

    Preeja Sreedharan: Finished 25th in the 10,000 metres.

    Mandeep Kaur: Failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the women's 400 metres. Timed 52.88 seconds while finishing sixth in the seven-athlete Heat Two and 33rd overall.

    Pramila Ganapathy Gudanda: Placed 27th among 34 finishers in the women’s heptathlon with 5771 points.

    JJ Shobha: Placed 29th in the heptathlon, scoring 5749 points.
