Vishy victorious

Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand regained the world title after seven years with an unbeaten run in the World Chess Championship in Mexico City on Sunday.

"You can imagine how I feel," Anand was quoted as saying on the tournament web site. "I won a big tournament last year and this is something very special for me."
As champion, the Indian ace collected the top prize of $390,000. Runner-up Vladimir Kramnik took home $260,000 dollars while Israeli Boris Gelfand got $180,000 for third place.
