John McEnroe received the prestigious Philippe Chatrier Award in Paris on Tuesday.

The International Tennis Federation chose McEnroe - a seven-time Grand Slam singles winner - for the sport's most prestigious award this year.

The American great, who also won nine Grand Slam doubles titles during his impressive career, was presented with the gong at the ITF's annual World Champions Dinner by federation president Francesco Ricci Bitti.
