Arsenal: Highbury to Emirates

August 7, 2007

"Two Chelsea fans visited the ground last week," says Charlie George, a former Gunner who conducts the Legends Tour at Arsenal's Emirates stadium.

Chelsea good club, I say, muttering that there is a lot of history at the other London club.

"This is called history," says George emphatically, standing by the freshly manicured pitch and showing me around the ground. The winning years are proudly painted in white on the red beams of the stadium tiers.

1930 FA Cup, 1931 Premiership, 1933, 34, 35....13 EPL titles, 10 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 12 Community Shields.

The Emirates stadium -- unscarred by battle, soaked in sweat and tears or resounding victory yet -- is some distance away from Highbury, Arsenal's original base.

A year after the Gunners shifted to their new home, takes a tour of the Emirates stadium.
