Manchester United needed a victory badly after trailing 1-2 in the first leg and the Red Devils did make it a night to remember at Old Trafford, posting their biggest ever win in the Champions League.

United, trailing 2-1 from the first meeting in Rome, had never previously overturned a first leg deficit in five attempts in the competition but did so in remarkable style to win the tie 8-3 on aggregate and advance to the semi-final.
