A deflected free kick from Naldo and a cool finish from fellow Brazilian Diego (center) earned Werder Bremen a 2-0 win over Levski
Sofia on Wednesday, giving a real boost to their qualifying bid in Champions League Group A.
Naldo's strike in added time at the end of the first half sneaked through the wall and trickled in off the post, giving
Levski keeper Georgi Petkov no chance.
Werder were almost caught cold at the start of the second half, when Valeri Domovchijski's skidding effort finished only a
fraction wide.
They regained control and secured victory in the 73rd minute when the ball broke for Diego to slip in a shot.
The Germans have four points from three matches in the group -- the same as Eurreopean champions Barcelona who lost 1-0 at
Chelsea. The London side top the group with nine points while Levski are bottom without a point in their first season in the
Champions League.
