France's Indian middleman

Dhorasoo has been in the news throughout his playing career. Since helping win the World Army Cup for France in 1995, he has been linked with transfers to clubs like Arsenal, Juventus and Liverpool.

He was a part of the 2002 French World Cup squad but did not play a single game. He was deprived of a place in the national squad since he plays in the same position as Zidane, the man who he is often compared with.

Born October 10, 1973 in Mauritius to Indian parents, Dhorasoo became the first footballer of Indian origin to be part of a major European title-winning outfit when his team FC Lyon won the Ligue 1 in 2003.

There was individual glory in the waiting too as he was named 'Best Player of Ligue 1'. The following year, he joined AC Milan.
