France's Indian middleman

India is a long way from qualifying for the football World Cup, and for now will have to settle for the only Indian connection at the mega event -- Vikash Dhorasoo.

The 32-year-old midfielder who helped Paris Saint Germain to the French Cup triumph this year was named in France's World Cup squad and is reported to be in coach Raymond Domenech's scheme of things for 'The Greatest Show on Earth'.

With Domenech parading a star-studded midfield, comprising Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Vieira, Alou Diarra, Claude Makelele and Florent Malouda, it's going to be a tough job for Dhorasoo to make it to the final eleven, but the playmaker's creative spark may clinch the issue in his favour.
