Australians watching their World Cup knockout match against Italy on June 27 Australian time on giant television screens in Melbourne's Federation Square are horrified as the Europeans are awarded the penalty that sealed the Socceroos' World Cup fate.
Most observers felt the incident looked more like a dive by Italian midfielder Fabio Grosso than a penalty offence by the Australian.

At a post-match interview, Aussie captain Mark Viduka was a picture of controlled anger, and kept reiterating that it was 'really a bad way to go out.'
