I Go, You Go, We Go!
Here's another surprise. Well, okay, not a complete surprise: Bad grammar is now officially part of soccer lingo!
Hence, phrases like "my bad", which is what a team member says after recognising that a mistake is his.
When a player says "I go!" or "my ball", he is signifying -- in a somewhat primitive fashion -- that he intends to gain possession of a loose ball.
