New words the World Cup gave us

July 21, 2006
Illustrator Uttam Ghosh and Sumit Bhattacharya give us a World Cup update of the dictionary.

Phrase: Roberto Carlos

Meaning: Sleeping on the job.

Why: For those wondering why, you must be one of the five people in the football world who have not received the mail showing how well the Brazilian defender 'marked' Thierry Henry while the Frenchman walked to score the goal against the then defending World Cup champions.

Usage: 'You have been Roberto Carlos-ing on this project.'
