Olympique Lyon were held to a dull 1-1 draw by Steaua Bucharest in their last group phase game.
The five-times French champions, already qualified before kickoff and sure of topping Group E, conceded their first goal on
home turf in Europe's premier club competition this season.
Steaua were sure to finish third behind second-placed Real Madrid, who drew 2-2 at Dynamo Kiev, and go into the last 32 of
the UEFA Cup.
Lyon were caught off guard after two minutes when playmaker Nicolae Dica (left) chested the ball down from a Sorin Paraschiv
cross before volleying it past Gregory Coupet to open the scoring.
The Ligue 1 leaders, who were without several key players, struck back 10 minutes later when France midfielder Alou Diarra
headed home a Kim Kallstrom cross from the left.
