Andriy Shevchenko (in pic) scored his first European goal for Chelsea as the Londoners beat Levski Sofia 2-0 to secure top
spot in Group A.
The English champions, already qualified, were in command all night and condemned Levski, the first Bulgarian side to play in
the group phase, to their sixth successive defeat.
Shevchenko showed no sign of a crisis of confidence when he drove home with the outside of his right foot in the 27th minute
after a neat through ball from Frank Lampard.
It was his first European goal since he was on target for AC Milan in last season's quarter-finals in April.
Sean Wright-Phillips got the second goal with a well-struck 20-metre shot in the 83rd minute after coming on as substitute.
