The era of David Beckham and Sven-Goran Eriksson is well and truly over.

Beckham, who stepped down from the England captaincy after the World Cup, was dropped from the squad, announced on Friday.
Also left out were former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell and goalkeeper David James
The 31 year old Beckham had been troubled with an Achilles tendon injury, which forced him out of the World Cup quarter-final against Portugal. Though he played the first half of Real Madrid's pre-season friendly against DC United on Tuesday, he looked rusty.
