Italian Grand Prix

Former champion Jackie Stewart was felicitated on the 40th anniversary of his first Grand Prix victory at Monza in 1965. On September 12, 1965, Stewart, aged 26, made an enormous impact by winning the race in only his eighth World championship event.

Now 66 and a former F1 team owner (1997-1999), he went on to win 26 more Grands Prix to break the great Jim Clark's record number of wins.

The Scot said McLaren's young Finn Kimi Raikkonen is a major talent despite lagging behind Renault's Fernando Alonso in the current F1 championship.

"Raikkonen at the present time, I think, has already taken over the position of the dominant driver, even ahead of [Michael] Schumacher and Alonso," he said.
