India's Sania Mirza celebrates after winning her first round match against Akiko Morigami of Japan at the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, on Monday.
The 18-year-old became the first Indian woman to reach the second round of Wimbledon with a battling 6-3, 3-6, 8-6 victory.
Mirza's victory set up an intriguing second-round showdown with US Open champion and fifth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova, who thrashed Briton Rebecca Llewellyn 6-0, 6-1.
Mirza had beaten Kuznetsova in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 at the Dubai Open in March this year.
