Man United's most valuable?
Rio Ferdinand expects to benefit from his dangerous liaison with Chelsea by becoming the best-paid player in English football history.
The defender, who was seen cavorting brazenly with Peter Kenyon, the Chelsea chief executive, is so important to Man U that they are prepared to offer him upwards of £110,000 a week in the hope of securing his future for the next five years.
The England defender will be offered the chance to replace Roy Keane at the top of the club's wage scale when negotiations with his agent, Pini Zahavi, resume in the next week, but even then an agreement is not certain.
