Singh on song

When Vijay Singh left Fiji and made his way to Europe in the early 1980s, he was helped by a lot of people. Fulton Allem spent hours with him, the legendary Seve Ballesteros worked on him as did John Bland. They all played their part in his success and Singh has not forgotten their kindness.

He remains one of the most approachable professionals on the tour.

While most golfers would think a dozen times before going up to Tiger Woods, they approach Singh without hesitation.

The Fijian -- who now lives on a plush estate in Florida -- checks out their swings and offers advice to many players -- both stars and, more often, people you've never heard of.

Golfers in the Singh camp include Hall of Famer Nick Price, Champions Tour headliner Jim Thorpe, John Morgan and Arjun Atwal, the Tour rookie from India.
