WTA Tour Championships
Maria Sharapova became the second-youngest winner of the season-ending tournament with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Serena Williams in front of 11,397 spectators at Staples Center.
But it was Williams who took the early lead by winning the first set.
