Pass the Flame, unite the world
Prokopiou lights the torch with the Olympic Flame using the rays of the sun concentrated in a concave mirror in the ancient sanctuary.
"Apollo, sun god and god of the idea of light, send us your rays to light the torch for Athens," Prokopiou intoned before the torch burst into flames.
