Is Manchester United finished?
This season, injuries have robbed Ferguson and United of their best players. In this scenario, Ferguson needed mature replacements, but he opted for immensely talented youngsters who lacked the experience of big match play. Darren Fletcher, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Djemba-Djemba (in picture) showed glimpses of real class but could not carry United to victory.
In time, they very well may. But, for now, the trio are struggling to make an impact. Striker Louis Saha, signed from Fulham for £12 million in January, failed to display his class at Old Trafford.
In sum, the 62-year-old Ferguson must accept responsibility for a series of events that have overshadowed United's season.
