The 19-year-old striker played a major part in Portugal's run to the Euro 2004 final against Greece with his incisive runs on either flank. He has excellent ball control and can conjure up a trick or two to leave defenders dumbfounded.

Portugal and Greece had met in the opening match of the tournament. It is the first time in European Championship and World Cup history that the teams which played the opening match are meeting in the final.
