Marco Tardelli of Italy
He was tough, uncompromising and knew exactly what was expected from him. They called him one of the toughest defensive midfielders of his era -- and he certainly deserved that tag.
But he is remembered for scoring the second goal in Italy's 3-1 win over West Germany in the 1982 World Cup final in Madrid.
With tears running down his face, Tardelli shook his head in disbelief -- the World Cup had finally come back to Italy. He was named man of the match in the final and was one of the players of the tournament.
