Meet the greats in Mumbai

Paul Tergat is the proud world record holder for the marathon. Before his epic Berlin world marathon record of 2:04:55 in September 2003, when he beat fellow-Kenyan Sammy Korir by just a second, the Kenyan had finished second thrice and fourth twice in five previous marathon races.
He hails from Riwo village in Baringo District, where he ran to and from school daily during his primary and secondary school education. A father of three children, his sights are firmly set on the gold medal at the coming Athens Olympics.
