2004 FIFA World Player of the Year

Teams: Brazil, Barcelona
Born: March 21, 1980
Brazil's Ronaldinho has transformed Barcelona since arriving at the Nou Camp at the beginning of last season from Paris St Germain.
When he joined Barca in July 2003, the club was struggling but he inspired the side to second place in the 2003 Spanish Primera Liga.
This season, Barcelona are playing the most exciting soccer in Europe and have taken a runaway lead at the top of the league.
And Ronaldinho's skill and vision is at the heart of Barca's success.
Diego Maradona believes Ronaldinho operates on a higher level than everyone else. The Brazilian has already won World Soccer magazine's player of the year award this year.
'I don't give him any instructions at all. It's up to him whether he wants to go left, right or down the middle,' says Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard.
