Australia's Anna Meares celebrates with the national flag after winning the gold medal in the women's track cycling 500 metre time trial final at the Olympic Velodrome within the Olympic Sports Complex in Athens, on Friday.

Meares set a new world record, clocking 33.952 seconds, to beat the previous record of 34.000 set by China's Jiang Yonghua.
