The idea of setting up such an office occurred to Kulkarni while he was working on a website to promote Advani's book, My Country, My Life. "That was when we felt the need for a well-equipped office to support Advaniji's increasing communication needs... in communicating his views, and his activities through multiple media," Kulkarni said.
So, while the party headquarters worked along conventional campaign methods, this office in Anant Kumar's residence was conceived to work exclusively as Advani's communications office.
The first project that the office took up was Advani's website. Enter Prodyut Bora, the head of the BJP's IT cell.
"A lot of young people use technology -- mainly the computer and the mobile. And with 10 crore first time voters, it is important to reach out to them. And because of the huge media explosion of recent times, there is no single medium to reach out to people. So we conceived this website as a place to convey Advani's views of a young India to them," Bora says.
