22 policemen killed in Lahore terror attack
March 30, 2009
At least 22 policemen were killed in a gun and grenade attack at a police training centre in Lahore on Monday.
Most of the casualties occurred near the gate of the centre when the terrorists clad in police uniforms and carrying backpacks lobbed several grenades as they launched their attack and then fired indiscriminately.
The injury toll is being pegged at around 150. No group has taken responsibility for the attack that comes barely a month after an audacious strike on the Sri Lankan cricket team that left six dead and 20 others injured.
