PMK deserts UPA, joins AIADMK

In a blow to the ruling Congress-led United Progressive Alliance, crucial regional ally Pattali Makkal Katchi party on Thursday said that it would build a new alliance in Tamil Nadu.
The PMK party said that it would join Jayalaithaa-led All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, for the general elections to be held during April and May.
'Whenever PMK aligned with the Poes Garden (AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa's residence) it is due to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (Karunanidhi-led ruling party of Tamil Nadu) attitude. DMK drove us to Poes garden', PMK leader and Union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss had said.
