Third Front launched to counter BJP, Congress

Ten political parties, comprising some regional parties, like the Telugu Desam Party, Janata Dal-Secular, Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Bahujan Samaj Party, etc, and the Left, came together at a rally near Bengalure on Thursday to launch the 'Third Front' ahead of general elections beginning next month.
The rejuvenated Third Front would offer an alternative to the ruling Congress and main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, said Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Prakash Karat.
