Bihar has the highest number of 'tainted' candiddates

The maximum number of constituencies in the list are 5 from Bihar,
followed by 4 in UP. There are 3 MPs from West Bengal, 2 from MP and 1 each from Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Amongst the parties the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal each have 3 such MPs. The Samajwadi Party, Communist Party of India-Marxist, Bahujan Samaj Party and Lako Janshakti Party each have 2 and Janata Dal-Secular, CPI, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam have one candidate each.
Though Bihar has the highest number of such candidates, Uttar Pradesh has the worst in terms of seriousness of charges and number of cases. The Samajwadi Party's MP from Phulpur, Atiq Amed has 37 cases against him, including 7 for murder and 6 for attempt to murder against him.
