India test-fires interceptor missile

As part of building a domestic ballistic missile Defence system, India has successfully test-fired its homegrown interceptor missile.
The third interceptor, tested from Integrated Test Range at Wheeler Island in Orissa, destroyed an incoming decoy ballistic missile. The two-stage Interceptor Missile fitted with advanced systems hit the target 'enemy' missile at an altitude of 75 kilometers.
