Jodhpur Temple stampede leaves 160 dead

About 300 people were injured in a stampede that left at least 160 dead at the Chamunda temple in Mehrangarh near Jodhpur on Tuesday. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals. A senior official said that at least 160 people were dead and the numbers could rise further. There was a huge rush of Hindu devotees as they thronged the historic temple to mark the first day of Navratri festival.
