Silence, then the tears came welling down

November 30, 2008
'We love you Indira' said one. Rest in Peace, said another card on a bouquet. A lady came with two daughters. She placed a bouquet and wept silently. The girls stood in pain. The lady took a few steps back and looked at the Taj. She stood silent for a moment and then the tears came welling down. The girls looked on in grief. Then they left as silently as she had come.

A father came with his daughter to place some flowers in memory of a dear one. When he faltered, she held him tight. And when she swayed he held her. Hands clasped, they walked away slowly. As if on cue, the sun went behind a cloud. There was darkness all around.
