Sunday morning there were very few people at the Gateway of India. Unlike Saturday, when the place was swarming with crowds. Today, the police were keeping the crowds away. Not because there was any new threat to the Taj or the Gateway, but because Maharashtra's chief minister was coming here.
Vilasrao Deshmukh came in at 10.15 am. Half an hour later, he was gone and the cops visibly relaxed.
Outside the Taj near the Gateway some people had put flowers, candles, cards and letters.
