Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad Chief Hemant Karkare was laid to rest with full state honours in Mumbai's Shivaji Park crematorium on Saturday afternoon.
Leaders across the political spectrum came to pay last respects to Karkare, killed by terrorists early on Thursday morning.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi and the Bharatiya Janata Party's Nitin Gadkari were among the many leaders present.
