Uma Bharati on hunger strike to support Gujjars

Uma Bharti is on an indefinite hunger strike to support the cause of the Gujjars demanding Scheduled Tribe status.
The firebrand leader, accompanied by scores of Gujjar activists, tried to enter enter Bayana town in Rajasthan to meet the Gujjar leader Kirorimal Bainsla to extend their support to the stir.
Bharati was stopped at the border by Rajasthan Police.
