United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon flew to Myanmar on Thursday to press the military administration to allow a full-blown international aid effort for 2.4 million cyclone victims.
The UN chief arrived in Thailand on May 21 and said that helping cyclone victims in Myanmar should not be politicized, but focussed on saving lives.
Ban said he would meet Myanmar ministers, involved in the relief effort, and also Senior General Than Shwe in Naypyidaw on May 23.
