The third and final phase of the Karnataka elections came to a close with 61.30 per cent of the 1.71 crore voting population going to the booths and exercising their franchise on Thursday.
Counting for all the 224 constituencies for which elections were held in three phases will take place on May 25 from 8 am onwards.
The Chief Electoral Officer told mediapersons on Thursday that they want to complete the exercise by 3 pm on Sunday. He also said that 14 counting tables would be set up in each constituency.
In the third phase of polling, Dharwad and Bagalkot polled the highest with 65 per cent while Gadag and Haveri polled 63 per cent. The districts of Belgaum and Gulbarga polled 62 and 60 per cent respectively while Bidar and Bijapur polled 57 per cent each.
