"Till now 400 people have registered to donate blood in our kiosk. Apart from organising distribution of medicines and other relief material, we also ensure that the relatives of the injured do not have to go looking for food anywhere else," said Sunil Bali, who has been sitting from early morning at the kiosk put up by the Sant Nirakari Mandal.
Jaipur’s corporators and councillors have also pitched in. Apart from organising a blood donation drive, they were ready with fruits and milk for the thousands of people who had come to the hospital.
"We have also taken it upon ourselves to ensure that the final rites of unclaimed bodies are performed with all due respect," a volunteer said.
While these organisations are doing their best outside the hospital, other organisations like the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, thanks to their experience and training in emergency situations, are providing help even inside the hospitals.
